Select campus personnel recently took the City of San Benito Fire Department’s Basic Fire Extinguisher training course. San Benito firefighters provided classroom instruction as well as invaluable hands-on training in a real-life, controlled environment.

Rangerville Elementary principal Nora Martinez considers her campus the “best kept secret” in San Benito. The country school provides 371 students with an array of opportunities such as dance, chess, robotics, and athletic activities. The school implements restorative discipline counseling, uses Flipgrid technology in the classroom, and has an active parent center. Students also enjoy a calming pond … with fish!

Alysa Naranjo’s $48,000 Scholarship

San Benito High School senior and Hi-5 honoree Alyssa Narajo was surprised with a $48,000 scholarship to The University of Texas at Austin. The 4-year award will cover Alysa’s tuition for her pre-pharmacy program studies. This is the first time that a San Benito High School student receives this prestigious scholarship.

Guitar Program Christmas Concert

The San Benito High School and San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy Guitar Program held a memorable Christmas concert. Parents, family members, friends, and special guests enjoyed a variety of classical guitar tunes played by members of the beginner and advanced guitar classes, Flamenco Ensemble, Conjunto Sierreño, and Estudiantina.
