Miller Jordan Middle School principal Jo Ann Fernandez describes the school that opened its doors to about 300 students in 1956 as one that’s full of character and rich history. Today, there are a little over 850 students that proudly call themselves MJMS Cougars! Among the many programs available are a jiujitsu class through the After School Program and an Adopt a Highway initiative through the Leadership Officer Training Corps (LOTC) program. Campus initiatives include an Academic Advisory (AA) period that encompasses a mentoring component and the Targeted Academic Grouping (TAG) that helps ensure that all students reach their maximum potential. Technologically, MJMS is a “one to one” campus, and Epson projectors and interactive whiteboards further facilitate learning in the classrooms.
