Early College Academy (ECA) administrator Amy Rodriguez-Lopez explains how the district’s “school within a school” is a dual enrollment partnership with Texas A&M University - Kingsville (TAMUK). Essentially, ECA students are both San Benito High School Greyhounds and TAMUK Javelinas! The ECA offers high school students an opportunity to graduate having earned up to 41 college credit hours – an approximate savings of $14,000 in tuition! Taught by TAMUK professors, the courses currently offered are Art History, College Algebra, Communications, Psychology, and College Spanish.
