District observes National School Bus Safety Week
Featured
Over 6,000 students ride the bus to school every day and others, such as those that participate in extracurricular activities and field trips, also ride the bus. Transportation Department staff members placed the focus on school bus safety as part of School Bus Safety Week activities. Staff members worked closely with law enforcement officials, including our very own school district police, the Cameron County Constables Office, Department of Safety Troopers and the Los Indios Police. Elementary students learned lessons on school bus safety, behavior and responsibility, bully free zone, driver responsibility, student responsibility, emergency evacuation and school bus danger zone. A special thanks to all Transportation Department employees!
