  District leaders welcomed approximately 70 new teachers who joined the district for the 2018-2019 school year. The newly-hired teachers are attending a two-day orientation session at Veterans Memorial Academy.

• Administrators' Retreat helps leaders prepare for new year! Featured

  A three-day retreat at Veterans Memorial Academy featured various speakers, including Mark White of the International Center for Leadership in Education. Leaders also heard from attorneys and from other key district leaders who presented sessions related to human resources, purchasing, curriculum and instruction and other sessions. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nate Carman presented an overview of the district’s Strategic Plan and discussed goal setting.

• Greyhound Football Camp Featured

  Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Dan Gomez and the football coaching staff welcomed 200 incoming seventh, eighth, and ninth graders to the 2018 Greyhound Football Camp at Bobby Morrow Stadium. The annual football camp brought together the Berta Cabaza Middle School Greypups, Miller Jordan Middle School Cougars, San Benito Riverside Middle School Bulldogs, and Freshman Greyhounds. The camp promotes football fundamentals, encourages good sportsmanship, and prepares participants for the football season.
