Early Childhood Family Engagement Plan
The Commissioner’s Rule 102.1003 (f) established family engagement strategies that are based on empirical research and are proven to demonstrate positive short-term and long-term outcomes for early childhood education. The Commissioner’s Rule in addition highlighted examples of how each of the family engagement strategies could be carried out in a high-quality prekindergarten program.
San Benito CISD has developed an Early Childhood Family Engagement Plan in accordance with the Commissioner's Rule in order to support and increase student learning outcomes.
Early Childhood Parent Guides
Strong family engagement in early childhood programs is central to promoting children’s healthy intellectual, physical, and social-emotional development; preparing children for school, and supporting academic achievement in elementary school and beyond.
One way to promote strong family engagement is to equip families with tools to enhance and extend their child’s learning. These Parent Guides have been created by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to help families understand some of the things their child will learn each school year.
