Riverside Middle School principal Eliza Jensen-Gomez describes the modern and contemporary school as an “oasis.” The campus is strong in the areas of academics, athletics, and arts – a dedicated team of students earned the school’s first ever University Interscholastic League (UIL) team trophy, there have been new athletic victories, and the arts program is expanding greatly. Riverside implements research based strategies which empower students to be analytical and problem solvers; and through the “one to one” student to Chromebook initiative, students are more technologically engaged in learning. “We do well in all three areas – academics, athletics, and arts!” says the campus principal, adding that her students and staff are amazing!
