September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month.
The San Benito Consolidated Independent School District is sponsoring a quick 3 to 5 minute presentation titled "Light It Up Gold" before the San Benito greyhound football game at (Bobby Morrow Stadium) scheduled for Saturday, September 29th at 3:15 p.m.. The football game itself is the San Benito Greyhounds vs. the Midland Lee Rebels with a 4 p.m. kick-off start. We will have children, parents, students from S.B.C.I.S.D., and special organizations participate in the release of about 500 gold balloons. Several S.B.C.I.S.D. departments will be involved including Make A Wish Foundation of the Rio Grande Valley, and H.E.B
