Select members of the San Benito High School, Berta Cabaza Middle School, Miller Jordan Middle School, and San Benito Riverside Middle School orchestras and band proudly participated in the recent Texas Music Educators Association Region 28 All-Region Orchestra Clinic and Concert. Over 500 students had previously auditioned for an opportunity to fill one of the coveted 165 spots in the All-Region Orchestra.
The All-Region High School Orchestra honorees include San Benito High School orchestra students Edmundo Vasquez, Juana Villanueva, Sarah Garcia, and Terra Garcia and band students Kristal Salazar, Miah Kay Cardoza, and Ricardo Rangel. Representing San Benito CISD middle schools in the All-Region Middle School Orchestra are honorees Andra Teran, Israel Valdes, Kathy Rojas, Kevin Viera, and Yarellie Rodriguez.
San Benito’s talented musicians proudly performed with the All-Region middle school and high school orchestras at the Harlingen CISD Performing Arts Center.
The orchestra student musicians’ instructors are Karina Vela and Avigai González. The band student musicians’ teachers are Dulce Rodriguez and Jorge Mujica.
