San Benito CISD is switching its Medical Plan from BCBS to United Healthcare (UHC) effective 10/01/2017. Insurance Presentations will begin at the campuses on Thursday, 09/07/2017, and continue through Friday, 09/15/0217. A UHC Representative will be explaining the new health plan options. You will now have Option #1, #2, & #3 to choose from. Option #3 will be at no cost to you for employee only coverage.
Ortegon Insurance Agency will be conducting the Open Enrollments at each campus/location beginning on Monday, 09/11/2017, through Wednesday, 09/20/2017. It is recommended that you meet with an insurance agent on the day of your Open Enrollment to sign up for the new UHC medical plan and review any existing voluntary insurance benefits. This is the time to make any changes to your insurance. If you fail to meet with an insurance agent to sign your Open Enrollment Election Form, your current Medical Plan election from BCBS will transfer to either Option #1 or Options #2 with UHC. If this happens, you will not get to take advantage of the New UHC Option #3 Medical Plan that is at no cost to you as employee only coverage. All other Voluntary Insurance Product will remain the same.
