San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy principal Gilbert Galvan is quite impressed with the unique layout of his campus. The various components of the facility give its students a genuine feel for the college experience, and the Texas Success Initiative Assessment, better known as the “TSI test,” is administered to determine the appropriate level of college course work for incoming students. Among the many programs available to students are NJROTC, After School Program, before/after school tutorials, cheer and dance, athletics, and a variety of music programs. The various components of the Health Science Technology Program and the technology tools available to students help reinforce that early college readiness is one of the campus’ main initiatives. “You have to be a team for your campus to shine, and we do!” says Galvan.
