Guest Teachers (Substitute Teachers)

Welcome to the Website for Guest (Substitute) Teachers!
If you’re visiting this website, you’re most likely interested in joining our group of spectacular guest teachers (substitute teachers). We appreciate your interest in joining our team!
Through this page, we will provide valuable information for potential guest teachers as well as a variety of information and resources exclusively for onboarded guest teachers.
Steps to Become a Guest (Substitute) Teacher:
Step 1
Submit a new employment application or update an existing one. Be sure to select the appropriate open vacancy and position related to the Guest Teacher Program.
Step 2
Once the required online employment application is located in our Applicant Tracking system, each potential guest teacher must attend a mandatory (on site) orientation session provided by the Human Resources Department prior to being onboarded (hired). The session is essentially a component of the application process.
Step 3
Once you have been officially onboarded (hired) as a guest teacher, you may begin accepting 4-hour or 8-hour assignments through the District’s Frontline Absence Management System.
Thank you for your interest in serving as a guest teacher with San Benito CISD. We value your commitment to supporting our students and schools. ¡Gracias!

San Benito CISD's Crisis Response Protocol
For school and community safety, the San Benito CISD adopted the “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP). Our students and staff have been training, practicing, and having drills on this crisis response protocol since August 2022. The SRP is essentially based on the following five (5) actions: HOLD! – SECURE! – LOCKDOWN! – EVACUATE! – SHELTER!
