Response to Intervention

San Benito CISD uses a multi tiered system of support to provide intervention to our students. Our framework is listed below.

A framework that brings together Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) with the Texas State standards and the district's support systems to ensure academic, behavior, and social success.

San Benito CISD believes that an MTSS framework will help us achieve our goal of being the GOLD Standard for the growth and development of the whole child. We understand that academic, behavioral and social emoational skills all play important roles in preparing our students to be College, Career and/or Military Ready.

Response to Intervention (RTI) is a method of academic intervention used to provide early, systematic assistance to children who are having difficulty learning.

We do this by:
- Identifying our at risk students with a universal screener
- Providing research based interventions in the area of Academics, Behavior and Social Emotional Learning
- Monitoring student progress
- Adjusting the intensity of the interventions

The MTSS framework places a strong emphasis on early intervention to help all students succeed in the areas of academic, behavior, social emotional learning .

For more questions regarding the RTI program, please reach out to the Director of Assessment, Research and Evaluation.
