Dear Faculty & Staff,

It is my privilege and honor to serve as your principal for the 2009-2010 school year! Last year, we made a strong statement by becoming a state recognized campus for the first time in the history of SBVMA. This year, we shall add the exclamation point when we become a state exemplary campus for the first time in the history of our academy. The awards are great, but what these awards represent is far greater. As we know, the awards mirror the exceptional student achievement and teacher effectiveness. Last year, we unleashed much of the untapped talent and potential in ourselves and in our students. There is still some untapped Greyhound talent and potential deep down to be unleashed as we travel our focused and relentless course to exemplary! We are releasing all the dogs this year!

With that said, welcome to what promises to be an exciting, enriching, and exemplary year of excellence for all at VMA. Be ready for a year filled with abundant opportunities for shared leadership, quality service, unparalleled commitment, tremendous teamwork, luminous inspiration, purple passion, and exceptional results. Excellence will be the gold standard at VMA. I commend you in a noble profession and far reaching profession. You are “teacher”! We are all “teachers”!! Believe in yourself, your colleagues, and in your students for when you do, anything is possible!!!

At VMA, all decisions are data driven and results oriented. We shall employ research based instructional strategies and interventions while providing a challenging, collaborative, and viable curriculum effectively to ensure continuous improvement and optimal student achievement.

SBVMA staff and faculty commits to providing a safe, respectful, and caring environment for each other, our students, and parents. We are about results, not excuses. Failure is not an option, for we are about excellence. We partner up to champion each other and every single student. Thus, we are a recognized and soon to an exemplary instructional team. We expect greatness of everyone. Our legacy will live on way after we retire and then, much later, move on to teaching heaven. We continue to think gold and inspire excellence. Exemplary is what we shall be. I look forward to working with you as we continue to shock the educational world and deliver world class education to our students.

Sincerely,

Mr. Antonio Angel Rodriguez
Principal
