Ed Downs Elementary has made the TBEC/JFTK Honor Roll for 2003, which is the second year in a row! We are so pleased to include the school in this select group of the best sixty-nine (69) elementary schools in Texas. We will recognize the school and all the other Honor Roll Schools at an Awards Reception (5:30 pm) and Dinner (7:00 pm) on Thursday, November 20, 2003, in Austin, Texas. Prior to the reception and dinner, the Texas Business & Education Coalition and Just For the Kids will be hosting a "Share the Success" seminar for all Honor Roll Schools form 1:30 to 4:00 pm, which will be an opportunity for you to share with others the secrets of your success as a high-performing school.

The TBEC/JFTK Honor Roll is the most prestigious award for sustained, whole-school academic excellence in Texas. It recognizes consistent performance from schools rated exemplary for three years that have excellent performance in each grade, in each subject, and that rate in the top quartile of their peer group. And the best part is that a place on the Honor Roll was earned by your school through hard work, because there is no application process for this honor.
