Personnel – Community Relations
Celia Longoria is the director of communications for San Benito. She has been employed with San Benito CISD since 1998 and was previously employed by the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District’s Public Relations Department, beginning her career in school public relations in 1991. Longoria began her career in journalism at the Advance News in Pharr and at The Monitor in McAllen. A 1982 Mercedes High School graduate, Longoria earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Communications, Journalism concentration) from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg.
Gloria Montalvo has been employed with San Benito CISD for 20 years. She has held various clerical/secretarial positions with the district, working in the district’s Library, Parental Involvement and Migrant Departments and most recently, as the Public Education Information Management Systems (PEIMS) clerk at Rangerville Elementary. In addition, she worked as a secretary in the business sector prior to securing a position with San Benito CISD. Montalvo graduated from Harlingen High School in 1970 and attended Texas Southmost College in Brownsville.
Isabel C. González
Isabel González is the Special Populations Specialist for the San Benito CISD; her responsibilities include public relations activities and processing open records requests for the school district. She has been employed with the school district since May 2002. González was previously employed with the Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was responsible for marketing international mission trips and cross-culturalexperiences. A 1989 San Benito High School graduate, González earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing Management from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.
Dulce M. Quiroz
Dulce M. Quiroz began her employment with San Benito CISD as the district’s webmaster on a part-time basis with the district’s Technology Department in 1998.
Quiroz graduated in the top 15 percent of her class from San Benito High School in 1996. Prior to her employment with the district, Quiroz worked at TCI (Tele-Communications Inc., now Time Warner Cable) in 1995 as a co-op student as a member of the San Benito High School’s Distributive Education Club of America. She worked for three years as a customer service representative at TCI.
In 1998, she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Imaging Technology (Computer Graphics and Web Design) from Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, TX.
Upon graduating from Texas State Technical College in 1998, she began working part-time with the SBCISD Technology Department as the district’s webmaster. She took time off from her duties from 1999-2001 after her marriage and the birth of her two boys in 1999 and 2000.
In 2001, she returned to her part-time role as the district’s webmaster, eventually becoming a full-time employee in 2003. Since June 2013, Quiroz has been a welcome addition to the Community Relations/KSBG-TV Department, where she has continued her duties as the district’s webmaster and taken on additional duties related to television production.
