San Benito NJROTC wants you!

San Benito NJROTC is inviting all high school students (future Freshmen) to consider joining NJROTC. The NJROTC program emphasizes citizenship and leadership development. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year with extra-curricular activities of community service, academic, athletic, drill and orienteering competitions, field meets, visits to naval or other activities, marksmanship, sports training, and physical fitness training. This year San Benito NJROTC Drill Teams competed in Seguin, Texas and Houston, Texas. All Cadets visited the Iwo Jima Memorial in Harlingen and enjoyed viewing the Navy Flight Demonstration Team, “Blue Angles” in Kingsville, Texas. The Cadets also completed over 6770 hours of Community and School Support collecting over 4000 cans of canned food items and enough money to purchase over 152 Turkeys and collected over 260 toys. They also had an opportunity to get all dressed up in their finest clothes and attend the Annual Military Ball at the Rancho Viejo Country Club. This year was a year of records as NJROTC became the Fifth largest NJROTC Unit in the State of Texas (out of 67 units), was selected as a Distinguished Unit and earned the Most Improved Unit in the State of Texas by the NJROTC Area Manager in San Antonio, Texas. Be part of San Benito History, join NJROTC. If you have questions about NJROTC contact your Counselor; or LT Rolando Gonzalez or Chief Richard Williams at 276-6075.
